A Factory on Wheels.
The owners of Global Steel started in the commodity storage business in 1978 as an insulation supplier/contractor. In 1981 the company developed into a specialty contracting company, supplying controlled atmosphere storages for the agriculture industry. This process utilizes the Arch Machine Metal Building System. The primary goal was to provide the client with a “turn-key” facility by preparing a complete construction package that would include engineering, a job site manufactured structure, sprayed insulation, and a CPU (microprocessor)-driven air system.
Since that time, we have produced hundreds of controlled atmosphere storages. These storages have been utilized for many commodities, including potatoes, carrots, and onions. Continuing to utilize our expertise, in 2011 Global Steel built a 36,000-square-foot climate-controlled storage for sweet potatoes in Oklahoma. The Arch Machine Metal Building System allows storage times up to 1 year with less than 10% “shrinkage.”
Global Steel is a building manufacturer as well as a construction company. We have abilities in construction and manufacturing with the Arch Machine Metal Building System. Therefore, Global Steel can provide all services—manufacturing, design, engineering, training, repair, technical support, and construction.
We have worked with the U.S. Government (DOD) since 1983 and sold the military its first Arch Machine Metal Building Systems in 1986.
To accommodate our developing international thrust, we organized Global Steel in 1989. In 1992, all other operations came under the umbrella of Global Steel and its title took the place of all formerly used names.
We played a vital role in Operation Desert Shield/Storm in support of US CENTCOM based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Global Steel was selected to provide men, materials, and the Arch Machine Metal Building System to the U.S. military because of its outstanding and immediate responses on previous military contracts. Our organization is one that performs under extreme and adverse conditions.
Global Steel serviced the DOD once again in 2007 and 2008 while supporting contracts in Iraq, supplying equipment, men, and expertise for projects at Taji. From 2011 to the present, we have been placing Arch Machines and trainers in the Afghanistan theater for U.S. Government building contracts.
We have produced buildings for many and varied uses, which include aircraft hangars, offices, warehouses, refrigerated storages, controlled atmosphere commodity storages, maintenance garages, and recreation facilities in the United States and throughout the world.
Global Steel’s unique position allows us to market the Arch Machine Metal Building System, supply the technical training, and build large-scale construction projects. Our personnel have over 120 years of combined experience with the Arch Metal Building System in over 30 countries worldwide.
At Global Steel, we are continuing to expand our research, design, and construction services. Our objective is to complement other specific needs of our clients and encourage the successful completion of the job.
